A war that is seemingly without merit, a crippling failure that has used military means to get to (supposedly) peaceful ends. This video narrated by the wonderful Tony Benn, former Labour party MP and lifelong socialist, makes the case against the war, in particular relating it to how it has affected Britain. But the costs of the war for all parties involved, especially the Afghans, is there for all to see. Not only in this video, but in the entire experience of this latest war in Afghanistan, the graveyard of empires. But it will take an international movement to end this war, not just the actions of anti-war Brits, and it must favour a future for Afghanistan acceptable for the Afghani people themselves, a path of peaceful and democratic social and economic development, however unlikely that appears when looking into an unclear and misty future.
